Designed for Avian Veterinary Settings

1. Transporting Sick or Recovering Birds

Birds that are unwell or recovering may need a carefully managed environment during transport. Depending on the bird's condition, ambient temperature and transport duration, maintaining an appropriate thermal environment can be an important consideration.

PETOLIVA Smart Bird Brooder provides adjustable temperature control in a portable enclosure, helping veterinary professionals prepare a suitable warming environment for selected bird transport situations.

The appropriate temperature and setup should always be determined according to the individual bird's species, age, condition and veterinary guidance.

2. Clinic-to-Vehicle Transfers and Mobile Bird Rescue

Moving a bird between a clinic, vehicle or field location can present practical challenges, particularly when access to a fixed power supply is limited.

PETOLIVA supports multiple power options, including a compatible power adapter, portable power bank and vehicle power supply. This flexibility can help veterinary professionals and rescue teams prepare a suitable portable warming setup in different locations.

For mobile use, confirm that the power source meets the brooder's requirements before use.

3. Veterinary Care and Recovery Support

PETOLIVA can be used as a portable warming enclosure in selected veterinary care and recovery-support situations where its size, operating conditions and features are appropriate.

Its temperature display, adjustable settings and portable design help users monitor the enclosure environment during use.

PETOLIVA is intended to support appropriate bird-care practices. It does not replace a professional veterinary incubator, oxygen delivery system, intensive-care equipment or clinical monitoring where these are required.

Adjustable Temperature Control

PETOLIVA Smart Bird Brooder features adjustable temperature settings to help users prepare a suitable warming environment for different situations.

  • Adjustable set temperature: 20–39°C
  • Temperature adjustment increments: 0.5°C
  • Temperature display: Check the enclosure's displayed temperature during use
  • Automatic heating cycle: Heating resumes as the temperature drops, according to the unit's control logic
  • Over-temperature protection: Heating automatically stops when the detected temperature exceeds 39°C

The specified temperature accuracy is ±1°C under the manufacturer's stated conditions. Actual temperature can vary with ambient temperature, power supply, airflow and operating conditions.

Always monitor the bird and enclosure during use. Do not assume that a particular setting is suitable for every bird or clinical situation.

Temperature and Humidity Monitoring

The built-in display shows temperature and humidity readings, helping users observe the enclosure environment during operation.

Monitoring the enclosure is particularly important when environmental conditions change during transport or when the brooder is used in a different location.

Temperature and humidity readings describe the enclosure environment; they do not indicate the bird's clinical condition. Follow veterinary guidance when deciding whether additional monitoring or equipment is necessary.

Flexible Three-Option Power Supply

PETOLIVA Smart Bird Brooder supports three power-source options, allowing users to choose a suitable setup for stationary or mobile use.

1. Power Adapter

Use a compatible power adapter that meets the brooder's required input specifications for stationary operation.

Before connecting the unit, check the adapter's output voltage, current, connector and other compatibility requirements specified by the manufacturer.

2. Portable Power Bank

A compatible portable power bank can provide power when a wall outlet is unavailable, making it useful for suitable mobile transport, field work or other locations away from mains power.

Power requirements: Use a power bank with a rated output of at least 60W and confirm that its USB-C output specifications are compatible with the brooder.

The brooder supports different heating performance depending on the available power:

  • Single USB-C input: Under suitable test conditions, the temperature may rise approximately 15°C above ambient temperature.
  • Dual USB-C inputs: Under suitable test conditions, the temperature may rise approximately 25°C above ambient temperature.

For example, if the ambient temperature is 10°C, dual-input operation may allow the enclosure to reach approximately 35°C under suitable conditions.

These figures are indicative, not guaranteed operating temperatures. Actual performance depends on ambient temperature, power-bank output, cable capability, ventilation and other operating conditions. A 60W rating alone does not guarantee that a power bank will achieve a particular temperature.

Check the product's instructions for the correct connection method before using one or both USB-C inputs.

3. Vehicle Power Supply

PETOLIVA Smart Bird Brooder can be powered in a vehicle when a compatible power source is available.

Option A: Vehicle USB-C port

You may connect the brooder to a built-in vehicle USB-C port if that port supports an output of at least 60W and meets the brooder's required input specifications.

Do not assume that every vehicle USB-C port provides sufficient power. Some ports are intended primarily for phone charging and may have a lower output rating.

Option B: USB-C PD car charger

For vehicles without a suitable built-in USB-C port, use a compatible USB-C Power Delivery (PD) car charger connected to the vehicle's 12V accessory socket, commonly known as the cigarette lighter socket.

Choose a charger with a USB-C output rated at 60W or higher, and confirm that its supported voltage and current profiles are compatible with the brooder.

Older vehicles may require this additional car charger because their original USB ports may not provide sufficient power.

Important: A charger labelled 60W or higher is not automatically compatible. Check its output specifications and follow the brooder's power-supply instructions before use.

Actual heating performance in a vehicle depends on the available power, the vehicle's electrical system, ambient temperature and airflow.

Ventilation, Filtration and Maintenance

1. Filter Pads for Feather Dust

PETOLIVA Smart Bird Brooder includes two removable filter pads designed to help filter feather dust during use.

The pads can be removed for cleaning and replaced when needed. Follow the product's cleaning instructions and ensure that the pads are completely dry before reinstalling them.

The filter pads are not a substitute for clinical air filtration, infection-control procedures or any specialized filtration system required by a veterinary facility.

2. Cleaning the Enclosure

The main enclosure body is made primarily of ABS material. Follow the product manual when cleaning the enclosure, and avoid exposing the removable electronic module or other electrical components to water.

Always disconnect the power supply before cleaning. Allow all cleaned components to dry fully before reassembly and use.

3. Ventilation and Observation

Maintain appropriate ventilation and observe the bird throughout use. Do not block ventilation openings or modify the enclosure in a way that could interfere with airflow or temperature control.

The correct setup depends on the bird's condition, the duration of use and the clinical or transport environment.

Is PETOLIVA Smart Bird Brooder Suitable for Your Bird Patient?

PETOLIVA is designed for selected portable bird-warming, transport and care situations. Whether it is appropriate for a particular bird depends on the species, age, body size, clinical condition, required temperature, ventilation needs and duration of use.

Before using the brooder for a sick or recovering bird, assess the individual requirements and follow the treating veterinarian's recommendations.

For situations requiring specialized clinical equipment, continuous intensive monitoring or other medical support, use equipment appropriate to the bird's needs.
